Noun Definition:

A noun is the name of a person. Place, things, or animal.

For instant: boy, girl, city, wood, gold, tiger

Examples:

Ali sang a song.	علی نے ایک گانا گایا۔
My family lives in Multan.	میرا خاندان ملتان میں رہتا ہے۔
The dog is a faithful animal.	کتا ایک وفادار جانور ہے۔

Abstract Noun with Examples

Definition:

Abstract nouns are nouns that express ideas, emotions, and such things which we cannot see or touch.

Examples:

I love reading books. (see)	مجھے کتابیں پڑھنا پسند ہے۔
He is my long-time best friend. (touch)	وہ میرا دیرینہ دوست ہے۔
I am listening to music. (hear)	میں موسیقی سن رہا ہوں
These flowers smell nice. (smell)	ان پھولوں کی خوشبو اچھی ہے۔
I am going to eat this ice cream. (touch)	میں یہ آئس کریم کھانے جا رہا ہوں۔

 Definition and Examples Proper Nouns 

Definition:

We may define a Proper noun is the name of a particular person, place, or thing.

For instant: Ali, Karachi, Army public school.

Examples:

My name is Ali.	.میرا نام علی ہے
Islamabad is the national capital of Pakistan.	اسلام آباد پاکستان کا قومی دارالحکومت ہے۔
My father teaches in Army Public School.	میرے ابو آرمی پبلک سکول میں پڑھاتا ہے۔
I like to eat biryani.	مجھے بریانی کھانا پسند ہے۔
They drive a swift car.	وہ سوئفٹ کار چلاتے ہیں۔

What are Collective Nouns with Examples?

Definition:

A name is given to a group of people, animals, or things.

Examples:

A class of students.	طالب علم کی ایک کلاس۔
A panel of experts.	ماہرین کا ایک پینل۔
A pack of wolves.	بھیڑیوں کا ایک پیکٹ۔
A troop of monkeys.	بندروں کا ایک دستہ۔
A murder of crows.	کوؤں کا قتل۔

Countable Nouns

Definition:

The noun that can be counted.

For instant:

book, boy, teacher, city, student.

Examples:

These are some boys.	یہ کچھ لڑکے ہیں۔
The chair is new.	کرسی نئی ہے۔
I like my teacher very much.	میں اپنے استاد کو بہت پسند کرتا ہوں۔
The students are studying in the class.	طلباء کلاس میں پڑھ رہے ہیں۔
My father works in a company.	میرے والد ایک کمپنی میں کام کرتے ہیں۔

Use of How many in Countable Nouns

How many is used when want to know the QUANTITY of something.

• It is only used with Plural countable nouns

How many people work in our company?	ہماری کمپنی کتنے لوگ کام کرتے ہیں؟
How many cousins do you have?	آپ کے کتنے کزن ہیں؟
How many books did you buy?	آپ نے کتنی کتابیں خریدیں؟

Uncountable nouns with Examples

Definition:

The noun that cannot be counted.

For instant:

milk, water, fish, oil, fever, pain.

Examples:

We drink water to quench our thirst.	ہم پیاس ختم کرنے کے لیے پانی پیتے ہیں۔
Sugar is used to make tea.	چائے بنانے میں چینی کا استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔
